2027: Yahaya Bello calls Tinubu unbeatable, promises continued support for Kogi

Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will remain steadfast ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that no opposition merger or political alliance can remove the President from office.

Bello made the remarks on Saturday in Lokoja, where both President Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo received formal endorsement for a second term in office.

He said Nigerians should be grateful to have a leader who in his view is committed to stabilizing the economy and taking the country towards development.

“Tinubu has performed well since coming on board as President. His efforts so far in stabilizing the economy are commendable,” Bello said. “Any merger by the opposition against President Tinubu will never work. It has already failed. No one can oust Tinubu from power in 2027.”

Bello called on those with presidential ambitions to shelve their plans and instead rally behind the President to consolidate his reforms.

He urged residents of Kogi State to maintain their support for Governor Ododo and described his second term as “already secured” given his performance.

In his remarks, Governor Ododo pledged massive support to President Tinubu in the next general election, promising to deliver 99 per cent of the votes to Kogi All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ododo said, “Mr President should have no fear. Kogi is his, and we will come in thousands to vote for him.”

The governor commended Tinubu for giving federal appointments to indigenes of the state, saying Kogi “will reciprocate this gesture in due course.”

On the achievements of his administration, Ododo highlighted ongoing investments in infrastructure, education, health care and water supply, and said more projects would be delivered before the end of his first term.

The advocacy event was attended by prominent political figures including Senator Smart Adeyemi, members of the National and State Assemblies and former Speaker of the Kogi House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole.
