The National Center for Universities and Business (NCUB) has gained four -year funding commitment from England to promote cooperation between academics and industry.
Funding that manufactures NCUB's university and business members, will underline an ambitious forward plan aimed at making the UK more competitive, more collaborative and future economic and social challenges.
NCUB stated that fresh investment allowed it to expand its role as a national convenor and a reliable voice on research, innovation and talent development. By providing insight, evidence and practical tools, the organization helps ensure that research can be translated into real -world innovations and long -term benefits for communities and economy.
Unlike several sector bodies, NCUB supports the government with a membership contribution from both universities and businesses, a model states that policy recommendations and practice are based in the realities of both fields.
Over the next four years, NCUB's strategy will focus on three main priorities: creating a more attractive destination for UK, strengthening the link to accelerate innovation between universities and companies, and to create coordinated responses for global changes in skills, research and innovation systems.
Professor Dame Jessica Corner, Research England Executive Chairman, said that funding has recognized the national importance of NCUB: “This funding recognizes the important role of the National Center for Universities and Business in strengthening the link between research and industry.
