The hall claims that because of this, colleagues for Kennedy blocked him directly to the New York Times reporters about the study. Instead, the hall was allowed to provide only written reactions to the newspaper. However, the hall claims that Andrew Nixon, a Kennedy spokesman, reduced the results of the study to the Times and edited the written responses of the hall and sent them to the reporter without the consent of the hall.
In addition, the hall claims that he was stopped from presenting his research on ultra-prostitution foods at a conference and was forced to either edit a manuscript, which he worked with external researchers or removed himself as a co-writer.
A HHS spokesperson denied the CBS that the hall was censored or his written responses to the Times were edited. A statement by HHS said, “Any attempt to paint it as a censorship is a deliberate deformation of facts.”
