Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has directed the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) to accelerate and end the ongoing uploading of applicant information into the recruitment exercise for Nigeria's paramilitary agencies.
The minister's directive comes amid growing frustration among applicants who are unable to track their recruitment status even weeks after completing various stages of the process.
Many people reported being locked out of the system or unable to confirm whether their applications were successfully processed.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Friday, Tunji-Ojo acknowledged the challenges facing the recruitment portal and assured applicants that the delays were being addressed.
“Following recent complaints from applicants in paramilitary agencies who are still unable to determine their fate due to continuous uploading of information,
“I have directed the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board to ensure that all uploads are completed immediately,” the minister said.
CDCFIB announced earlier Thursday that applicants can begin checking their admission status Friday.
Some people said the website repeatedly failed to load after logging in, while others found that job categories different from the ones they had applied for were being displayed on their dashboard.
Many applicants also claimed that their names were completely missing from the system.
The Interior Ministry has assured the public that the problem was mainly due to the ongoing upload of huge amounts of data.
The recruitment exercise attracted about 1.9 million applications for about 30,000 available positions in the four paramilitary agencies, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Meanwhile, the board has urged Nigerians to beware of fake recruitment messages and unauthorized websites claiming to offer employment slots in any service.
It stressed that all authentic updates will be shared only through official government channels and CDCFIB portal.
