The Chief of Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers to key command and staff positions in a comprehensive restructuring aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and aligning the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) with his leadership vision.
In a statement issued on Friday by Director of Public Relations and Information Ehimen Ezodem, at least 19 senior officers have been assigned new appointments, while six others have been posted to various defense and inter-service establishments.
According to the NAF, the redeployment reflects the determination of the new Air Chief to “improve decision-making, strengthen coordination across units and commands and strengthen the readiness of the service in response to emerging security challenges”.
Under the new posting, Abubakar Abdullahi now serves as the Chief of Policy and Plans, while Adeniran Ademuwagun has been appointed Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna. Ibitayo Ajiboye takes over as Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Investments Limited Group of Companies.
Anmol Amadi was named Chief of Operations, just as Nnamdi Anyanba took over as Chief of Air Intelligence. Similarly, Abimobo Abiowe will oversee standards and assessment, while Ahmed Dari will become the head of training.
The transformation and innovation branch will now be headed by AVM Mohammed Ibrahim.
In the logistics and engineering areas, Olufemi Ogunsina has been appointed Chief of Aircraft Engineering, and Michael Onyebashi has assumed command as Air Officer Commanding, Mobility Command. David Pawajok was named Chief of Communications and Information Systems, while John Ukeh took over as Air Provost Marshal.

To strengthen the administrative and welfare structures of the NAF, Simon Peter has been appointed Managing Director of NAFIL Housing and Construction Company, and AVM Chidibere Obiabaka becomes Air Secretary. Anthony Martins now serves as the Head of Administration, Abubakar Sule as the Air Officer Commanding, Logistics Command and AVM Abdulrasheed Kotun as the Managing Director of NAF Farms.
The new head of civil-military relations is Edward Gbaquet, while Osichinaka Ubadike has been named deputy commandant of AFIT.
The statement further said that Ahmed Bakri, Albert Bot, Idi Sani, Muhammad Suleiman, Jibrin Usman and Japhet Ekwuribe, among other senior officers, have been deployed to various defense and inter-service establishments to enhance coordination in joint military operations.
