Nigeria Revenue Service unveils official logo ahead of January 1 tax law commencement


…as FIRS becomes NRS

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) which replaced the now defunct Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has unveiled its institutional brand identity, marking the beginning of a new revenue administration in the country.

The NRS came into operation in June 2025 after President Bola Tinubu signed his enabling law known as the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act 2025.

Speaking at the unveiling of the logo in Abuja, the Executive Chairman of the NRS, Zac Adedeji, explained that the logo and other brand elements for the NRS represent an important milestone in the evolution of Nigeria's revenue administration framework, a statement from the Revenue Office on Wednesday said.

“The unveiling of the NRS identity reflects a new commitment to a more integrated, efficient and service-oriented revenue system, aligned with Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda and global best practices,” he was quoted in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Acting President on Media, Dare Adekanambi.

“Indicates continuity of purpose, strong institutional capacity and a visionary approach to support taxpayers and national development.

“The Nigeria Revenue Service is committed to transparency, partnership and service excellence. The unveiling of this new identity represents not the end, but the beginning of a strong relationship built on trust, clarity and shared prosperity between the Revenue Authority and the Nigerian public,” the statement said.
