CDPAANSAS launches youth empowerment program in Borno


General CG Musa Community Development Peace Ambassador and National Security Achievements Supporter in Media (CDPANSAS) has launched a youth empowerment program in Borno State, aimed at equipping youth with practical vocational skills to enhance economic self-reliance and promote sustainable livelihoods.

The programme, unveiled on Thursday, January 1, 2026, focuses on training youth in upholstery and interior decoration in partnership with Bumba Furniture Limited.

The beneficiaries were drawn from less-privileged backgrounds in Chikade, Johode and Kugham communities of Gwoza Local Government Area of ​​north-east Nigeria.

Speaking at the launch, the Acting Director General of General CG Moses Community Development Peace Ambassador, Adamugwoza Gwabin, described the initiative as part of the organisation's wider commitment to grassroots development, peace building and post-conflict economic recovery.

He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to sponsor the beneficiaries and disclosed that the empowerment package for the program is worth ₦250,000.

Gwabin urged the trainees to take the opportunity seriously, stressing that dedication, focus and discipline will be key to acquiring skills that can secure their future livelihoods.

He said, “This empowerment program is designed to give you practical skills that will make you self-reliant and productive member of society. We expect you to remain committed throughout the training period.”

The Acting Director General also commended the Chief Executive Officer of Bumba Furniture Limited for partnering with CDPAANSAS to acknowledge the beneficiaries and ensure the success of the initiative.

In his remarks, Idris Bumba praised the General CG Musa Community Development Peace Ambassadors for their continued efforts in supporting community development at the grassroots level.

He assured the stakeholders that Bumba Furniture Limited will provide the necessary technical support and conducive learning environment to fully achieve the objectives of the training programme.

Other officials present at the program included the Vice Chairperson and Director of Contact and Mobilization, Buka Gatuwa, who stressed the importance of discipline, punctuality and total commitment on the part of the trainees, noting that these qualities would determine the overall success of the programme.

Highlights of the program included the formal handing over of trainee documents to the CEO of Bumba Furniture Limited, group photographs and a guided tour of the furniture facility, where the participants were introduced to the basic tools, equipment and processes by a training officer.

The empowerment program is being implemented under the guidance of General CG Musa Community Development Peace Ambassadors and National Security Achievements Supporters in Media Platform (CDPANSAS), a nationwide platform with presence in 36 states of Nigeria.
