The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) Bauchi State Command has intercepted a Dangote truck with damaged railway tracks and slippers and arrested 5 suspects in this regard.
The state NSCDC Commandant, Oloyede, Nelson Oyerinde, disclosed this to journalists during a briefing. Appreciated the efforts of its personnel for their unwavering commitment towards the security of the national infrastructure.
“Upon receipt of intelligence around 0300 hrs of January 12, 2026 around Geital town of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, NSCDC personnel on patrol along Miri, Jos Road intercepted a Dangote truck with registration number MDB 360
He said that investigation has revealed that John as the owner/masterminder of the intercepted railway track and truck driver Auwal are absconding but efforts are on top level to arrest them to face the full wrath of the law.
The five suspects arrested in connection with the crime include Adam Kolo of Borno State, Samuel Moses of Yobe State, Solomon Junkaro of Niger State, Emmanuel Collins and Sunday David of Enugu State.
While the recovered items include 80 pieces of damaged railway tracks, 5 pieces of slippers, bags of chicken feed, a long vehicle truck, Lexus RX 330 with registration number BWR60DN.
Also, Nura Abdullahi of Vuntin Dada area of Bauchi Local Government Area of the state was arrested at about 0200 hours of January 14, 2026 for theft of a motorcycle.
He said that during preliminary investigation the suspect confessed that he was purchasing stolen motorcycles from two (2) suspects based in Bauchi State.
He further said that the arrested suspects confessed to selling eight (8) motorcycles to one Abdul Abdullahi Magaji in Gindiri, Mangu LGA, Plateau State, with an estimated street value of about ₦2,020,000.000 (2 Million Naira), while efforts to arrest other members of the syndicate and recover exhibits are at top level.
The State Commandant reiterated that the NSCDC Bauchi State Command has resolved to rid the state of vandalism and other forms of crime. Also warned the criminals to either desist from such acts or be prepared to face legal consequences if arrested.
He also urged the people of Bauchi State, especially those who live in the area where these infrastructures are located, to inform the NSCDC or any security agency with credible information whenever there is any suspicious activity of persons in the vicinity.
