Ladoja seeks assistance from FG on ecological problems, visits SGF


The Olubadan of Ibadan Land, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has urged the Federal Government to help solve ecological problems in Ibadan.

The monarch, who made the appeal during a visit to Abuja, George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, acknowledged the previous interventions of the Federal Government and the World Bank on the Ogunpa Channelization Programme. The royal father said the Ogunpa ecological problem gained greater prominence because the affected areas are elite areas spanning from Mokola, Ekotado, Ogunpa, Oke Edo to Molete.

In a communiqué signed by his media aide, Adeola Oloko, Olubadan urged the Federal Government to help solve the ecological problems threatening the underprivileged people living around Oranyan, Kudeti Agbongabon area and some other parts of the city which are not in the limelight through any fault of theirs.

According to him, imagining is better than telling what countless people have to face on this route during the rainy season.

Responding, Akume said he was not surprised that Olubadan could come from Ibadan to Abuja to draw the attention of the Federal Government to the plight of his people, adding that this is why Olubadan has won the wide perspective of affection.

He promised that the federal government would do everything possible to assist.
