The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the personal details and credentials of the candidates and their running mates for the Osun State governorship election, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate missing from the list of political parties approved for the election.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Public Affairs Officer of the commission in Osun State, Moses Olorode, said 14 political parties have successfully uploaded the names and details of their candidates within the stipulated period after the conclusion of party primaries.
INEC identified the parties as A, AA, AAC, ADC, ADP, APGA, APC, APM, APP, BP, NNPP, PRP, YPP and ZLP, adding that only parties that meet the constitutional and regulatory requirements within the stipulated time frame will participate in the elections.
The statement read in part, “The political parties that have validly uploaded the names and details of their candidates and their running mates issued by the headquarters of the commission in Abuja are: A, AA, AAC, ADC, ADP, APGA, APC, APM, APP, BP, NNPP, PRP, YPP and ZLP.

“In accordance with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2022 and as provided in Item 4 of the Time Table and Schedule of Activities for the Osun State Governorship Election, the Commission has published the Personal Particulars (Form EC9) of the candidates and their running mates. Copies of the Form EC9 of each candidate, together with all academic certificates and other documents submitted, will be displayed at the INEC State Office and all the thirty offices. (30) Local Government Regional Offices and Regional Offices of the Commission in Osun State on Monday, the 16th February, 2026.
''Political parties, candidates and members of the public are advised to inspect the published documents as provided by law.
“The Commission further clarifies that only the fourteen (14) political parties listed above, meeting the constitutional and regulatory requirements within the stipulated period, will participate in the upcoming Osun State governorship election.”
Meanwhile, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Osun State, Mutiu Agbokke, has assured the voters and all stakeholders of his firm commitment to transparency, professionalism and conduct of credible elections in accordance with the law and best democratic practices.
The Commission also urged political parties and the public to continue to support the Commission in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
