ACCI, afreximbank, autodex focus on agro-mechanization at FARMFATECH 2025


The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), in collaboration with Afreximbank and Autodex Nigeria Limited, has announced the second edition of the Farm, Food and Allied Technology (FARMFATECH) Expo 2025, a platform to promote agricultural innovation, mechanization and food security in Nigeria.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, President of the Chamber, Emeka Obegolu, who was represented by the Director General of ACCI, Agbaidu Chukwuemeka Zidani, said the expo would build on the success of its inaugural edition and further strengthen collaboration between Nigeria, China and other strategic global partners in pursuing sustainable agricultural practices.

He said the three-day event to be held at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja will host over 500 exhibitors, 76 participating countries and an estimated 500,000 visitors.

According to Zidani, FARMFATECH 2025 will feature cutting-edge technologies in agro-mechanization, food processing and value chain innovation, creating opportunities for investment, knowledge exchange and partnerships across the agricultural ecosystem.

Zidani said, “As a chamber, our passion for the growth and advancement of Nigeria’s agricultural sector is at the heart of this expo. We believe that FARMFATECH will increase productivity, strengthen food security and create employment opportunities across the value chain.”

He said ACCI, through its Agribusiness Group and four centres, the Business, Entrepreneurship, Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre, the Abuja Trade Center (ATC), the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce Dispute Resolution Center (NCC-DRC), and the National Policy Advocacy Center (NPAC) is committed to promoting innovation, advocacy and capacity building to support economic diversification and industrial growth.

“The agriculture sector remains a vital pillar of Nigeria’s economy and a major contributor to GDP. Through our Agribusiness Group, we continue to support the interests of farmers, agribusinesses and investors by promoting policies, technologies and partnerships that maintain productivity and resilience,” he said.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of Autodex Nigeria Limited, Tony Afam Ifekandu, stressed the company’s commitment to empowering farmers through innovative mechanization and mobility solutions.

“We are pioneering a future where contract farming, better seed systems and good agricultural practices are supported by world-class technology. Our mission is simple: to empower farmers to produce more, grow faster and earn better, because a food-secure Nigeria must be driven by innovation,” he said.

He said the company is investing in hybrid combustion and electric vehicles, tricycles, motorbikes and utility vehicles as well as battery-swap infrastructure to increase field-to-market efficiency and reduce logistics costs for farmers.
