Despite making several changes to their starting line-up, the Desert Foxes asserted their authority from the opening minutes and effectively put the contest beyond reach within the first half hour, underscoring their team's depth and attacking ability.
Algeria dominated the first half and took a commanding 3–0 lead. Zinedine Bellaid opened the scoring with a powerful header, before Fares Chaibi scored a superb solo effort to double the lead. Ibrahim Maza added a third with a composed finish, capping a ruthless opening display.
Equatorial Guinea showed more determination after the break and Emilio Nsu reduced the deficit with a goal in the 50th minute. However, Algeria's well-organised defense remained solid, managing the game comfortably and quashing any hopes of a comeback.
The result confirmed Algeria's status as Group E winners, finishing the group stage with a 100 percent win record and strong momentum heading into the knockout rounds. Meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea suffered a disappointing campaign, losing all three matches and exiting the tournament after finishing bottom of the group.
