Abiola Salami, convener of The Peak Performer (TPP), says leaders across the continent must be engaged with current realities for sustainable development in Africa.
“The Peak Performers Festival was born out of a simple but urgent conviction: that we cannot build great nations if we continue to produce disparate leaders,” Salami said during a press conference held at the TVC Communications Headquarters, Eko Atlantic, on Friday, October 31, 2025.
The theme, 'Empowering people, shaping leaders and upholding the legacy with 21st century intelligence', Salami said the theme reflects the belief that in today's world, intelligence is no longer just about intelligence quotient, but about all-round intelligence.
According to him, the mission of TPP Fest 2025 is not just to train leaders in the short term, but to heal, equip and sustain leadership in the workplace. He said that leadership that endures must be disciplined in purpose, courageous in expression and fundamentally sound.
“That's why at TPP Fest 2025, we are rewriting the leadership script by training emerging leaders to develop GRIT and move forward despite all odds, training women in leadership to say No More Shrinking when there are whispers of doubt in the market,”
Salami said young leaders across the continent become isolated by expecting a promotion without developing the discipline necessary to move through that promotion. According to him, the 2025 TPP Festival is presenting interventions on how young people can take ownership and accountability to bring excellence and contribute to their industry.
“Throughout the years at CHAMP, our work in boardrooms and across industries has exposed an undeniable truth: Leadership is no longer just a title. It is an emotional, strategic and spiritual responsibility,” said Salami.
He also revealed that TPP Fest 2025 is structured as a trilogy of leadership experiences captured at the Emerging Leaders Summit, themed GRIT: How to Drive Accountability and Ownership in Young Talent. The theme of the Women in Leadership Dinner was 'No More Shrinking: Unleashing Untapped Creativity and Market Growth' and the theme of the CEO Forum was 'Controlling the Invisible Impact of Leadership'.
Chairman of TPP Fest 2025, Yinka Adebayo, said the four-in-one conference will help produce leaders who can take the continent forward. According to him, Africa is fortunate enough not to be poor, and the continent cannot continue to play second fiddle on the global stage.
Victoria Ajayi, CEO of TVC Communications, said leadership should be democratized and true leadership starts with how people show up every day, especially when it comes to getting things done.
He said TVC is committed to leveraging its platform to amplify African voices to a global audience. “Building the right leadership culture matters. And that's what will ensure that we're creating the right leaders for the future. So for us, it's really important that we support that because we want good leaders.”
