Ruben Amorim has expressed confidence that Manchester United can finish the 2025/26 season on a high, despite a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to relegation-threatened Wolves in the 2025/26 season.
Rob Edwards's side arrive at Old Trafford on the back of 11 consecutive defeats in the Premier League, sitting bottom of the table with just two points from 18 matches.
However, Wolves walked away with a rare positive result after Ladislav Krzyński canceled out Joshua Zirkzee's deflected opener for Man United.

The draw came only three weeks after Amorim's team had beaten Wolves 4–1 at Molineux, a match in which Bruno Fernandes, Brian Mbeumo and Mason Mount were on the scoresheet. All three of them were among United's eight absent players this time around, as injuries continued to hamper the squad.
Despite the setback, sixth-placed Man United remain just two points behind defending champions Liverpool in the race for the final guaranteed Champions League spot, with a game in hand.
“I'm really confident,” Amorim said at the halfway stage of the season. “We just need to get all the players right, and I'm really confident.
“I don't know what's going to happen until the end of the season. Then we'll build our season resume. But I really believe that once we get all the players recovered, we'll be a stronger team. There's no doubt in my mind.”
United begin 2026 with a clash with rivals Leeds on Sunday, although Amorim insisted he would not risk aggravating existing injuries.
The Red Devils lacked creativity against Wolves, leading to Amorim replacing goalscorer Zirkzee, who came on at half-time for the injured Mount along with teenager Jack Fletcher.
The Portuguese coach confirmed that the change was tactical. “We needed to do what the game was asking,” he said. “We were struggling because they had too many people in midfield. With Jack, we balanced it out.
“In the first half, we struggled to recover the ball, but in the second half, we did it faster. At this point, I'm not looking at age or experience; I'm just looking at what I can do to win the game.”
United reverted to Amorim's preferred three-man defence, having previously had success with a back four.
Meanwhile, Wolves boss Rob Edwards praised his team after securing their first point since taking charge last month.
“It's good to take something away from the game,” Edwards said ahead of Saturday's clash with fellow strugglers West Ham. “I think it's the least we deserve. This is progress. Overall, it was a really good performance.”
