Anthony Joshua's driver prosecuted for careless driving, sent to jail


An Ogun State Magistrates Court recently convicted and jailed Anthony Joshua's driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode for reckless driving that killed two of Joshua's training staff, Sina Ghaemi and Kevin Lateef Ayodele, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Businessday reports that the Ogun State Police Command on Friday announced that the driver involved in the Lexus SUV accident involving British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua was arraigned in court.

According to police, the driver, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, aged 46, was charged before the Sagamu Magistrates Court in connection with the accident on Friday, January 2, 2026.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ogun State Command and Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babasei, disclosed this in an update made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Babasei said the matter was mentioned in the court, after which it was adjourned to January 20, 2026 for further proceedings.

He assured members of the public that the Ogun State Police Command is committed to due process and the rule of law, adding that the command will continue to keep the public informed as the case progresses.
