Borno State Government has announced a major recruitment drive for 1,000 teachers to strengthen teaching and learning in public secondary schools across the state.
In line with the directive of Governor Babagana Umrah Zulum, the teachers will be deployed to 139 functional secondary schools, giving priority to rural and hard-to-reach communities.
Speaking on the initiative on Wednesday in Maiduguri, the Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Lawan Abba Wakilbe, said the move is aimed at ensuring adequate staffing in newly constructed schools and rebuilding the education sector after years of insurgency.
