Cristiano Ronaldo nears record 1,000 goals

Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo shows no signs of slowing down as he moves 50 goals closer to the record 1,000 goal milestone, a feat no player has achieved in the modern era.

Notably, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored for Al Nassr in a 2–0 win over Al Hazm, taking him to an incredible 950 goals in his career in all competitions.

Ronaldo took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement.

“Happy to help the team win and score 950 goals! Always hungry for more!”

With six goals in as many appearances, Ronaldo has helped Al Nassr maintain an impeccable start to the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League season, topping the table with 18 points, three behind Al-Taawoun and eight ahead of defending champions Al-Ittihad.

Despite his advancing age, Ronaldo says that his hunger for success has not diminished. Speaking after receiving the inaugural Prestige Award at the Portugal Football Globe earlier this month, he reiterated his ambition to reach 1,000 career goals, even though his family urges him to stop.

“People, especially my family, say, 'It's time for you to stop. You've done everything. Why do you want to score a thousand goals?' But I don't think so. I feel like I'm still making good things, I'm helping my club and the national team, why not move on?” Ronaldo said, as reported by Goal.com.

“I know I don't have many years left, but I try to enjoy the few that I have… I live day by day, training session by training, game by game.”

With 950 goals and counting, the world is watching as Cristiano Ronaldo chases one of football's most extraordinary milestones, the 1,000-goal haul.
