Datey December: BASL, Wema Bank to light up MMA2 terminal for passengers


By-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operator of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), once again opened its doors to MBR Signature Events & Entertainment Company through a partnership with Wema Bank to bring the Christmas spirit to the terminal.

In his remarks, Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head of Aeronautics and Cargo Services, Remi Djibodu, commended the airlines and passengers who have supported BASL throughout the year by choosing to pitch their tents alongside MMA2.

Zibodu said it is for them that BASL pauses to reflect and celebrate this time of year, symbolically lighting up the terminal for the yuletide season, adding that the 'dayy December' actually begins at MMA2, the gateway to the festive experience.

He further explained that the enduring partnership with MBR Signature has facilitated the collaboration with Wema Bank, who have generously sponsored the Christmas decorations and ongoing festivities within the terminal.

Welcoming guests to the event, the Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head, Space and Campus Management, Kola Bamigboye expressed delight at hosting the event.

He said BASL is delighted to welcome Wema Bank to MMA2 as the official sponsor of this year’s Christmas festivities. He said MBR Signature, together with its partners, has consistently brought colour, creativity and warmth to the terminal during the festive season, and this year's collaboration with Wema Bank further enhances the experience for passengers and visitors.

Bamigboye said the partnership exemplifies BASL’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience and creating memorable moments for everyone passing through MMA2 during the Yuletide season.

The Christmas Light-Up program included special carols and musical performances, marking the official start of the festive season at MMA2 and creating a warm, joyful atmosphere for passengers, visitors and airport users.

As they officially lit up the terminal for the season, Mabel Adeke, Head of Brand and Marketing at Wema Bank, shared the bank’s excitement at the partnership to bring the Christmas experience closer to the traveling public. He thanked BASL for this opportunity and reiterated the Bank's commitment to enhance customer experience through meaningful commitments.

Also speaking, the Group Head, High-Value Segment and Diaspora Banking, Wema Bank, Olutayo Oladipo, said the bank is fully prepared for “Datey December” and has chosen to bring its festive campaign to the airport.

He stressed the importance of responsible financial habits, encouraging travelers to save wisely while enjoying the season, while highlighting the bank's commitment to supporting customers with innovative financial solutions during the holiday period.
