As part of activities to commemorate the 2025 World Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Accident Victims, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Katsina Sector Command, in collaboration with the Road Safety Officers Wives Association (ROSOWA), Katsina Chapter, organized a humanitarian outreach to express sympathy to victims of road traffic accidents receiving medical care across the state.
Speaking during the event at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina on Saturday, Rossova Chairperson Hadiza Maxwell Lede said the aim of the outreach was multi-faceted, adding that “First of all, it aims to pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in road traffic accidents and express our heartfelt sympathy to the families who are currently mourning.
“Secondly, the purpose of the visit was to demonstrate compassion, solidarity and emotional support to the victims who are still undergoing treatment.”
Presented by Aisha Yacob Idris, ROSOWA Chairperson appealed to individuals, corporate bodies and the general public to extend continued support to victims of road traffic accidents, many of whom remain hospitalized for long periods due to the severity of their injuries.
He reiterated the vital importance of responsible driving, stressed that there are no repetitions in life, and urged motorists to avoid reckless driving, overloading luggage and passengers, and overspeeding, behaviors identified as major contributors to preventable road traffic deaths.

He highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between FRSC, ROSSOWA and health care institutions, noting that such humanitarian interventions significantly enhance the morale, emotional resilience and recovery outcomes of disaster victims.
The team comprised regular marshals, special marshals and members of the NYSC Road Safety Club, all of whom actively participated in the outreach as the relief materials were formally presented to the hospital management for onward distribution to patients within the facility.
