…expressed satisfaction over the quality of work
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Friday inspected several ongoing and completed projects in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of the state.
During the inspection, the Governor charged residents to take ownership of public facilities and infrastructure provided by the government, stressing that such projects are meant to directly serve the people. He commended the contractors for the quality of work delivered in the local government area.
Governor Ododo also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his tireless efforts towards transforming Nigeria’s economy and ensuring better resources for massive infrastructure development across the country. He described President Tinubu as a leader who believes in unity and continuity and urged the people to continue supporting him.
Governor Ododo said, “I thank a father, a leader, a president who believes in giving back to his people, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He is a man of the people, a leader who leads from the front and does not play politics with the lives of his citizens. I commend him for giving me the opportunity and resources to deliver these projects for his people.”
He further said that President Tinubu has urged sub-national governments to focus on projects that directly benefit their citizens, in line with the ongoing initiatives of his administration.
He said, “Mr President had said that we should look back home and that is what we are doing. These projects were started under his vision of justice and development for the people. We are here to inspect the progress and within the shortest possible time – before the end of this year, these projects will be commissioned.”

The Governor reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the transformational development of Kogi State, stressing that his mandate is to serve humanity. He revealed that about 90 to 95 percent of the Primary Health Care Centers (PHC) across the state will be completed and operational before their official commissioning.
He also called on citizens to ignore the propaganda of individuals who discourage community engagement with the government, pointing out that such interactions help identify critical needs that can be effectively addressed. The Governor commended the people of the community for their support and cooperation and urged them to continue to work closely with traditional rulers and stakeholders while providing credible security intelligence to the relevant authorities.
“Don’t allow criminals to find sanctuary in your communities,” he charged.
At the palace of Obaro in Kaba, Governor Ododo highlighted that his visit to Kaba-Bunu LGA was not only to inspect the ongoing projects but also to commend the traditional council for its steadfast support to his administration and the progress of Kogi State.
“We are here to assess the impact of ongoing government projects, especially the ecological projects and developments in Kogi State University, Kabba, to ensure that they meet the needs of our people. These projects reflect our determination to bring governance closer to the grassroots.
He said, “Your Excellency, no government can succeed without the support of traditional institutions. You are the bridge between the government and the people, and your role in maintaining peace and security cannot be overstated.”
The Governor acknowledged the challenges faced by some communities and assured that his administration will address them decisively.
The Governor inspected several projects in Agbadu, Ayegunle-Igun Bunu, Okebukun and Kabba town, including a nearly completed primary health care centre, a newly constructed senior secondary school and other major infrastructure projects.

He also appealed for immediate attention to the Kabba-Egbe-Ilorin Road, the rehabilitation of which is long pending.
Similarly, the Olu of Okebukun, His Excellency Oba Timothy Ige thanked God for the Governor’s visit to his community and commended him for carrying forward the legacies of the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
