Chechenya Today: What do you like to travel there
Cheches was always a proud and fierce group of people living in the remote mountainous regions of today's Dakshin Chechnya, which was afraid of the conquests in the 19th century, as well as Stalin, and the conquest of them by modern Russians.
During WWII, Stalin launched an ethnic cleaning campaign that included mass, forced Experience of Chechnches in KazakhstanAnd after Stalin's death, he was not allowed to return to 1957. However, his social boycott continued till the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Unlike other Caucasian countries GeorgiaArmenia or AzerbaijanChechnya was unable to become an independent country as it was already part of the Russian Union before the creation of the Soviet Union.

Decades of decades of Russia being excluded from the rest of Russia-resulting in self-declaration of freedom from fuel-Russia with strong identity First checch warFrom 1994 to 1996.
The war ended with Russia's victory, although they were never able to completely control the ongoing rebellion, so a second war began 1999 to 2009.
Both these wars saw a toll of the death of 250,000 people, but a peace agreement after 2009 allowed Chechnya to enter a new era under a controversial but practical rule. Leader's name QadirovInitially a freedom supporter revolutionary but later a close aide of Putin.
The person elected by Kadirov Putin has been selected to control Chechnya by keeping free from any separatist movements. In turn, Chechnya receives large parts of federal investment and Kadirov can rule the republic because he sees fit, almost like a dictator.
This is a very brief summary of today's Chechnya.
Chechnya was practically destroyed during two wars but was completely re -organized. When you travel there, you will realize that from the perspective of a infrastructure, Chechenya is an advanced area according to regional standards, but Cheches has never lost strong identity that defines them.

Cultural etiquette: What is expected when you travel in Chechnya
Chechnya is actually a surprising destination.
Despite being part of the Russian Union since 1858, this small country is a completely different world from anywhere. Is in RussiaOr any other Caucasus country.
First, Chechnya is a Muslim country, but unlike other former Soviet Muslim countries, religion plays a major role in the daily life of Chetchnes.
Men can't wear shorts
It also translates into strict rules that can affect you as a passenger. For example, wearing shorts in public is strictly forbidden, a rule that you declare too much in any public place, most likely there is a warning to all Russians of Moscow as a warning that comes for a trip.
No alcohol in Chechnya
In addition, Chechenya is a nearest country with only one or two places in Grouzoni (Top Paid Hotel) serving liquor. This is something that I was not expecting to experience in a country like Russia.
A similar society
After visiting Chechnya, I found it easy for me to recognize Chechen in Moscow, not only because of their facial features, but also because they all share a special style.
Men trim their beard as Kadirov mustache with a long beard. It was very complicated to walk with the main bullet in the Grozoni and note that a lot of chechen man looked like Kadirov.
Most women wear clothes equally. They all wear a long, colorful dress with long, long trousers without exception. The vast majority also wears a hijab.
Chechnya has managed to have a very strong identity, which I feel really attractive.

Visa and Permit for Chechnya
Can you visit Chechnya?
Yes you can Chechnya is part of the Russian Federation, so any passenger going to Chechnya will require a Russian visa.
For more information, check Visa section Our travel guide for Russia.
Permit to go to Chechnya
Do you need a special permit to travel around Chechnya?
No, you are not even in the areas near the border Georgia,
However, remember that you need a permit to visit South Ingushetia – travelers cover both republics in a trip.
By the way, ingushetia is a separate republic from Chechnya, but ingushetians are ethnic and culturally similar to checch. He was divided into just 2 different republics in an attempt to divide his society.
You need a permit to go to the border areas, and you will also need a local guide and a tour operator. It takes a full month to release the permit, so if you are interested in going to that part of the northern Caucasus, then plan accordingly.
Czech tour
Traveling around Chechnya and North Caucasus requires complex logistics, not only in the context of transport, but also because a knowledgeable local guide will always be useful.
Against the compass, we offer a campaign that connects not only Chechnya but also Ingushtia, Dagistan and North Oseshia.
The next tourism is determined:
How to reach Chechnya
How to visit Chechenya by aircraft
Grozony – is the capital of Chechnya – an international airport (GRV). To be honest, it is a very small airport with some international flights, but there are some flights from Istanbul, Jeddah and Dubai,
However, Grozoni has several daily relationships with Moscow.
Alternatively, you can also fly on airports near Makhachala (Dagistan) and Vladicavakaaz (North Oseshia).
For more information about how to book flights, read Getting in the section Suggestions for our journey for Russia.
How to visit Chechnya by train
Grozhney has a train station with Moscow and many straight trains Other cities in RussiaHowever, keep in mind that travel from Moscow to Grozney takes more than 1 day.
I personally entered Russia from West Kazakhstan In Astarkhan, from where I took a night train for Makhachala. From Makhchala, I entered Chechenya by car through the mountains, but there is also a train connecting both cities.
For more information about how to book trains, read Is happening in Section Suggestions for our journey for Russia.
How to go around chechnya
Chechnya is not great in terms of public transport.
I mean, you can easily get the grozoni from the train and travel by minibus between different cities and cities, but it is very difficult to visit the southern part of the Republic, as it is a difficult area of the Caucasus.
Hitchhiching, however, must be easy, and this is something that the locals do all the time. It can also be quite adventure, allowing time.
A 4WD is also required to visit the remotest and most stunning parts of Chechnya.

Best time to visit Chechnya
Generally, the best time to travel to Chechnya is from June to September.
This is the best season for trekking along with going to the mountains.
However, since the Grouzney is located in the Terai, it can be very hot in the summer months, and the same goes too much for any other city in the northern Caucasus.
Honestly, if you are not planning to make a special increase, I would say that April-May and October-November are the two best times to travel to Chechnya, as the weather in cities will be pleasant.
Where to live in Chechnya
Where you want to live in Grozoni
There are many hotels in Grozhney. I was personally stopped Central city hotel grozneyA newly built, small hotel located in the center.
If you want a little bit hardcore, see Grozony City HotelLocated in one of the tallest buildings in Chechnya.
Where to live in other parts of Chechnya
In South Chechnya, near Itum-Kala, you can live Edelweiss Hotel, Which is very close to the Tusheetti region of Georgia.
I also stayed in a mountain lake Kegenoy in East Chechnya. Although it is true that the lake is nothing spectacular, you are likely to stay on your way from Dagistan. A government -run hotel is called Kegenoy-M Hotel,
Remember that you can book your accommodation in Ostroke. Check the housing section Our Russian guide.
Telling: Things to do in Chechenya in 3 days
Map of things to do in grouzney
Day 1 – Grozoni, Capital of Chechnya
When it comes to the cities of the Northern Caucasus, Grouzney is my favorite, but just because it is something you will never expect, not only because of its unique identity, but also because some areas are more like Dubai than elsewhere in Russia.
In addition to walking around the city center and with the main bullets, where the Chechain roams all, I recommend taking a Yandex to Argun, which is probably the newest renovated sector in all the Caucasus.
I recommend spending 1 or 2 nights here in Grozoni.

Day 2 – Galanchoj, Tsoyed Ped and Veduchi
It was my favorite part throughout Chechnya, home to the jaw leaving landscapes.
However, you will need 4WD, as the roads here are really thick.
It is actually possible to reach Veduchi – the final destination – with a normal car, but then you will recall the highlights found on the road that moves parallel to the Republic of Ingurate. Please, check the above map for reference.
At the end of the Mountain Road, you will come in a Caucasus Necropolis Tsoy Peda built in the 13th century, including many crypts made on the top of a hill, and where you can still see human remains.
Next, I recommend going to Veduchi, where you can stay in a decent hotel called Edelweiss.
Day 3-Sheroi, Casenoy-M and Khoi
From Veduchi, you can travel with a beautiful crazy mountain road from the valley to the valley that will take you directly to the Sharoi, a new renovated Chechen Mountain Village that has been converted into an open air museum today.
To be honest, I am not a very big fan of these modern, solves renovated places, but I should accept that it is really impressive to see.

From Sheroi, you can also travel to the next valley with another wonderful mountain road that will take you to a popular tourist destination for Cahnoy, a Mountain Lake and Cheches.
I don't think the lake is particularly beautiful, but it's a cold place where you can see locals hanging out and spend your day on a barbecue.
In Kegenoy, you can stay in a hotel run by a government called Cahnoy-M Hotel.
The next day, I recommend to move forward on your visit to Dagston.
