Koladassi University (KDU), Ibadan, has intensified efforts to improve workplace efficiency, accountability and overall institutional performance by organizing a high-level retreat for its senior staff.
The two-day event held at the Royal Resort Hotel Ibadan brought together top administrators and experienced resource persons to examine how senior staff can enhance excellence, uphold institutional values and strengthen service delivery in university operations.
Declaring the retreat open, Vice Chancellor Prof. Adeniyi Olatunbosun underlined the importance of capacity building in sustaining the university's vision for academic and administrative excellence. He described senior staff as vital to maintaining standards and ensuring smooth functioning of the university system.
The facilitator of the retreat, Prof. Olajumoke Morenikeji, Vice-Chancellor reiterated the importance of the retreat.
“In every thriving university system, the role of senior staff is critical. As custodians of institutional values, policies and culture, they significantly shape the long-term success of the university,” he said, speaking on the topic 'Strengthening leadership, strategy and service delivery in the university system'.
Throughout the session, experts discussed leadership development, strategic planning, teamwork, communication and process efficiency. Participants explored practical solutions to improve accountability, reduce administrative barriers, and strengthen a culture of professionalism.
The resource persons emphasized that strong leadership and coherent strategy is essential for universities in the emerging educational scenario. He highlighted the need for senior employees to adopt ethical conduct, adopt technology-driven solutions, strengthen collaboration and align unit-level goals with the broader vision of the institution.
The retreat also examined ways to enhance service delivery through effective feedback systems, improved work processes, and student-centered administrative practices. Speakers said that when leaders at all levels work with clarity, shared purpose and accountability, universities become more resilient, innovative and competitive.

Registrar, KDU; and Haruna Adetu, Registrar, KDU.
KDU management reaffirmed the institution's commitment to a stable academic calendar, quality assurance practices and continuous improvement in teaching, learning and administration.
