Nigerdock is seeking to enhance collaboration with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to expand Snake Island Port capacity and position Lagos Harbor for the next phase of port development.
During a familiarization tour of the terminals, Chairman of the Snake Island Integrated Free Zone (SIIFZ), Maher Jarmakani, said their partnership is aimed at unlocking potential that can strengthen Nigeria’s trade competitiveness.
Both sides say they are looking for ways to align regulatory priorities with private investment in infrastructure and sustainability.
NPA Board Chairman Dayo Adeyeye said the authority will continue to support private sector-led port development, describing the project as essential to Nigeria’s long-term maritime strategy.
Snake Island Port, consisting of three terminals, was approved for development by the NPA in December 2024 under a public-private partnership, a 45-year concession to pilot new trade routes.
It currently provides logistics solutions and support to various customers.
