The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command has promoted 265 officers and personnel to new ranks, marking a significant increase in its operational strength in the state.
The decoration ceremony was performed by the State Commandant of the Corp, Mohammed Hassan Aglama, at the command headquarters in Kano on Friday, following the promotion approved by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board.
Speaking on the occasion, Aglama described the promotion as a reward for hard work, discipline and sustained commitment to service. He urged them to view their new ranks not as a privilege, but as a fresh call for greater responsibility and exemplary conduct.

“Your promotion is in recognition of your dedication, discipline, selfless service and commitment to duty,” the Commandant said. He emphasized that high position comes with high expectations.
He reminded the officers to remain guided by the core values of the Corps – integrity, patriotism, loyalty, professionalism and respect for constituted authority – while performing their duties across the State.
Aglama also issued a stern warning against indiscipline and unprofessional behaviour, adding that the command will not tolerate any action capable of undermining the image of the corps.
According to him, the NSCDC's mandate to protect vital national assets and ensure public safety in Kano State requires teamwork, professionalism and strict adherence to operational guidelines.
The event was attended by a number of dignitaries, including the Member of the House of Representatives representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency, Abdulhakeem Kamilu Addo and senior officers of the Corps, as well as representatives of partner security agencies, family members and well-wishers.
