Leading Nigerian consumer electronics and lifestyle retailer Perch has entered into a strategic partnership with MPLED, a global manufacturer of professional LED display technology, with the aim of strengthening Nigeria’s digital display and advertising infrastructure.
The alliance is designed to bridge the gap between high-end industrial performance solutions and the Nigerian commercial market.
Through the partnership, Perch will leverage its nationwide retail network to distribute MPLED's advanced LED signage and large-format display systems to businesses, event organizers, churches, campaign teams and retail stores across the country.
Speaking at the signing of the partnership, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Perch, Iyke-Henry Nnadike said the collaboration is in line with the company’s long-standing mission of providing practical and affordable technology solutions to Nigerians.
“From mobile phones, we expanded into electronics with the goal of making quality electrical appliances accessible to Nigerians,” Nnadike said.
“As we reviewed our product offerings, we began to focus on areas where we could provide more solutions, particularly in the media and advertising sector.”
He said Nigeria’s advertising landscape has evolved significantly in recent years, with increasing demand for both indoor and outdoor digital display boards.
According to him, this trend informed Perch's decision to seek a global partner capable of delivering high quality LED solutions that meet international standards.
“It took us about a year to find the right partner,” he said. “We were deliberate about choosing a company that meets European standards because quality is not negotiable for us.
We want to change the mindset about substandard products in the Nigerian market. We are focused on service and long-term value.
Under the agreement, Purch becomes the authorized distributor and partner of MPLED in Nigeria and Africa for an initial period of five years.
The companies formalized the partnership with the signing of a certificate, marking the official rollout of MPLED's outdoor LED display products in the Nigerian market.
Nnadike said the newly introduced products are designed to be user-friendly, durable and suited to Nigeria’s operating environment.
He said the system incorporates innovations aimed at simplifying installation and maintenance for local users.
The outdoor LED displays, which were formally launched at the event, are expected to serve a wide range of applications including political campaigns, religious ceremonies, concerts, sporting events and corporate promotions.
With high brightness and clarity, the screens are built to remain visible even in outdoor conditions and over long distances.
Speaking on the partnership, MPLED General Manager Lisa Tan expressed her excitement to collaborate with Perch to introduce the company’s products to the Nigerian and wider African markets.
He said that the strong synergy between the two companies driven by a shared commitment towards quality and customer satisfaction will ensure the success of the partnership.
Tan said the energy-efficient and affordable products are designed to stand out in Nigeria’s growing market.
Speaking on the partnership, Francis Ossai, an executive at Perch, said the collaboration reflects the company's long-term commitment to quality despite the challenging business environment.
He said that after extensive search, MPLED emerged as the best partner for the project, thereby gaining the full confidence of Perch.
According to him, entering into the venture without any fear has allowed both the companies to commit fully and today, the results are already bringing smiles.
As businesses increasingly adopt digital advertising formats, the demand for reliable LED infrastructure has increased.
Digital billboards and large-format displays are becoming more common in major Nigerian cities, reflecting the shift from static print boards to dynamic, programmable visual platforms.
By entering the professional LED display market, Perch is expanding beyond its traditional consumer electronics portfolio into business-to-business technology solutions.
The company says the move reflects its broader ambition to participate in shaping Nigeria's evolving digital ecosystem.
Both companies expressed confidence that the partnership will not only improve access to quality LED technology but also contribute to greater professional standards in the country's visual advertising and event production sectors.
