The Plateau State Government on Thursday joins the rest of the country in observing the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, honoring the brave men and women who paid the supreme price in the service of the country.

The ceremony commenced with inter-communal prayers for the repose of the souls of the martyred heroes and for continued peace, unity and stability across Nigeria.
After this, floral tributes were offered and a minute's silence was observed in honor of the brave officers and soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the defense of the nation.
Governor Caleb Mutafwang of Plateau State reaffirmed his administration's unwavering commitment to the welfare of the former soldiers, generals and immediate families of the fallen officers, and assured them of continued government support.
Represented by Plateau State Deputy Governor Josephine Pio, Mutafwang described the sacrifices of the armed forces as invaluable, noting that their courage and patriotism remain the foundation of the country's peace and independence, while promising continued partnership with security agencies to promote peace and unity and ensure that the fallen heroes are never forgotten.
