Police arrest two suspected robbers in Bauchi, recover firearms, motorcycle


The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a firearm and a stolen motorcycle in Azara, Katagama Local Government Area of ​​the state.

In a statement on Sunday, the command's spokesman, Ahmed Wakil, said the arrest followed a distress call from Adamu Abdullahi of Gandam Wambai, Azare, informing him that gunmen had attacked his business premises, GKY Food and Oil Mills, and snatched his motorcycle.

The suspects identified as Hassan Babangida, 25, and Abdullahi Husseini, 27, residents of Hanafari village in Jamare Local Government Area, were later apprehended by police operatives with the assistance of local vigilantes.

The lawyer quoted the state Commissioner of Police, Sani Omolori Aliyu, as saying that he commended the operatives and community members for their prompt cooperation, describing it as a reflection of the command's proactive stance against crime.

Aliyu reaffirmed the commitment of the command to combat criminal activities and ensure security of lives and property across the state.
