Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Monday swore in three new judges of the Katsina State High Court and urged them to maintain the public trust with integrity, impartiality and the fear of God.
The newly appointed judges are Maryam Umaru Abdullahi, Shamsuddin Abdurrahman Ammama and Abubakar Muhammad Dikko.
The swearing-in ceremony held at the Government House in Katsina was attended by dignitaries from the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government as well as members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers and family members of appointees.
Speaking at the event, Governor Radda described the swearing-in as “a remarkable milestone in the judicial history of the state”, noting that the appointment of the new judges will strengthen the judiciary and enhance effective justice delivery in Katsina State.
Radda expressed confidence that the new judges, given their impressive qualifications and years of professional experience, will make meaningful contributions to the administration of justice in the state.
The Governor said, “Today, we are swearing in three new judges of the Katsina State High Court. This is an important step forward for our judiciary as it enhances our capacity and strengthens the administration of justice in our state.”
He said, “I congratulate you and seek God's guidance in fulfilling your responsibilities. This oath of office and act of allegiance is a reminder for all of us in the executive, legislature and judiciary to reflect deeply on our responsibilities.”
Governor Radda advised the judges to regularly reflect on their oaths, stressing that their offices are sacred trusts before God and the people of Katsina State.
“After some time, maybe a month, I recommend we all go back and read this oath again. It will remind us that whatever we do, God is watching and knows all our actions.
“Everyone looks up to you for justice, even those who have a voice and those who do not. I believe that if you perform your duties with diligence and honesty your position will lead you to the right path.

He said, “We will continue to extend full support to the judiciary and the legislature so that we can maintain harmony between the three arms of government. Without a strong and effective judicial system we cannot achieve anything as a state. The judiciary remains the backbone of peace, order and justice in our society.”
He also stressed the importance of timely delivery of justice and warned that delay in judgment could undermine public confidence in the judicial system.
“As they say, time waits for no one. It is important that we deliver justice promptly and impartially so that we can build the kind of society we all desire, one based on justice, peace and unity.
“On this note, I once again congratulate you, wish you well, and pray for peace and unity in our state. May Almighty Allah guide us all and strengthen the bond of unity that exists in Katsina,” he concluded.
