Anthony Joshua is set to spend New Year's Eve at the Duchess International Hospital, a luxury healthcare facility in Nigeria, as the Nigerian-born British boxer recovers from a road accident that took the lives of two of his close friends.
The two-time world heavyweight champion was traveling in a black Lexus SUV which collided with a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State.

According to the Daily Mail, Joshua was taken to the Duchess International Hospital in Lagos, which is widely considered Nigeria's leading private medical facility and has been ranked the best private hospital in the country for the past two years.
The hospital offers an exclusive VIP service known as the Harley Street Practice, located on its sixth floor.

The facility includes Duchess Royal suites, which provide 24-hour one-to-one care, access to expert medical personnel and hospitality staff, as well as gourmet dining tailored to patients' preferences.
The basic package of a Royal Suite with en-suite facilities reportedly starts at around £2,000.

Joshua is reportedly in stable condition and suffered only minor injuries, though sources say he will remain under observation for at least a few more days as a precaution.
Meanwhile, Lagos State Police Commissioner Lanre Ogunlowo confirmed to the BBC that a formal investigation into the accident had been ordered.
“I can confirm to you that an accident has occurred and the victim has been taken to hospital,” Ogunlowo said.
