Joseph OjoThe Presiding Archbishop of Calvary Kingdom Church (CKC) recently led the congregation in a celebratory mode at the Zion Mega Convention 2025 with the theme, 'Culture of the Kingdom'; In this interview conducted between Sunday October 5 and Sunday October 12, 2025 john salouOjo explained what people need to do within the state; Saying that “God's revelation to people and humanity is progressive.” Part:
Can you tell us more about the theme of this year's conference; State culture?
According to our theme and scripture, the culture of the kingdom talks about how one should behave in the home. I mean every empire, ethnic empire has its own behavior pattern. You can see that an Igbo man can hardly behave like a Yoruba man. The differences are clear. An Edo man can hardly behave like a Hausa man. He must have lived in Hausa land for 20, 30 years; But he can hardly behave like a Hausa man. Furthermore in the Kingdom of God, when we are born again, there are values; There are certain things that a child of God must know about what is and is not allowed in this kingdom. How we should behave in God's house and many more things. So this is what we are talking about.
What influenced the theme or was it something you've seen in ministry or in the church at large?
not necessarily. It comes from inspiration. You know, you get inspiration from the scriptures. Politicians probably get inspiration from philosophy or from common events happening in the country. They are motivated to know and see what they are going to do. But in our own case, in the Kingdom of God, we get our instructions from the Word of God. Now, the Word of God stands out as the main inspiration for us to know what the gospel says about certain things; And this influences our choice of subject. You know, in the Kingdom of God, there are a lot of things – in Timothy where we took our main theme from. It tells us to know how we should behave in the house of God. First Timothy 3, verses 14 and 15. I am writing these things to you now, although I hope to be with you soon. So that if I delay, you may know how people should behave in the house of God. We are not trying to humiliate people. I don't want to do that. But there are many ministries today whose ministers are not trained or lack the knowledge of how people are to conduct themselves in the house of God. Even many people do not know how to conduct themselves on the stage while preaching. If we don't teach, they won't know. Jesus Christ said, go and teach all nations what I have given you. Therefore, we are emphasizing the conduct of people in God's house. This is what the topic is about.

You have been in the PFN leadership for some time; Don't you think it has now become a task for the faith elders in PFN to accept this challenge and preach?
Yes, it is a challenge. But you know our problem in PFN is very big. What do I mean by this; The PFN is a body of many sects, and many of them have their own doctrinal principles. Trying to straighten some of them could potentially send a camel's head into the eye of a needle. Some have anointing you can't control. Some have money you can't control. So, as I was saying, in the Kingdom of God, I was sharing with my people. Every state has its own rules and regulations. We are in the Kingdom of God, but our tribes are different. These different tribes have their own culture; But that does not mean that we are not Nigerians. Same thing with PFN – big body. Many times when you are trying to correct or direct someone, he thinks he knows more than you. So what we have in common is prayer. What we have in common is consistency.
In the early days of the 'church movement' you could easily identify who was a Christian: don't you think that in recent times there has been an invasion of strange culture within the church?
Yes. When you were in those days where evangelism was important – holy living was important. Those things are still an integral part of the church. Evangelism, holiness, all these things are there. But the only difference is how people define holiness. Those things are quite different now. The way people define evangelicalism. At the time you're referring to – we didn't have any phones. So, you can't even promote by sending text messages or this thing. You know, in those days, if you wrote a letter, depending on the distance, it would take you maybe two weeks to receive it. But things have changed. I can stop here right now and talk to you. If you want to see my face, I put it on Zoom or something like that. We can negotiate, we can have meetings; But it was not like that in those days. God's revelation to people and humanity is progressive. God is the author of all these things to preach the gospel. In the days you are mentioning, there was no television. Idahosa was the first to preach on television. NTA Benin in 1975, I was there. But today, people even have their own TV stations and they are spreading the gospel, preaching it on different media – so things are getting better. The definition of purity is entirely based on the way you look at it. the way you dress. If you go to wear dirty clothes, you wear slippers in the bedroom; You are the holiest person. If your shoe is polished, you are a righteous person; But this has changed.

What advice do you have for leaders?
This was one of the powers and culture of the New Testament. When I say we are here together, my concern these days is that if I get advice on the phone I can decide some things with you. Do not use social media or mass media to criticize – it is not of God. You didn't preach well, you didn't pray well, you didn't do this. No, it is not from God. British people say that they are washing their dirty linen in public, even if it is not dirty. Once you are washing it outside, people say it is dirty.
But how can we address this issue as it seems that the PFN is now a toothless institution in this context?
A lot of the things that are happening are happening because of what they call – Facebook or YouTube and hunger. People don't have jobs. They are getting something from how many people can see or respond to the ideas. He has one million people. So they are getting subscription money from this – also a lie. People are buying products that don't even work. When they paint it, whether you want to buy it or try it, it will not work. I'm stupid enough to use one or two. It didn't work. One day I said, look, this was the trick they used on Adam. So they are getting their money from this.
What is the solution to this?
The only solution is God; This is true. There can never be a time when we have everything neat and clean. Take my word for it. Jesus said; A farmer went to sow seeds in his field. And as the seed was growing, they saw weeds growing along with it. And the sower said to the master, We have sown good seed here, but why has what we did not sow grow? Let's go and overthrow them. And Jesus said, No, leave them. Let them grow together until harvest time. The angels will come, take the good people, put them back, and go and burn the bad people.
Finally, is there genocide in Nigeria?
I guess I can't be clear because I don't know the statistics they use. If I say anything it will be biased because I am a Christian leader, I say it is true. Unless I'm able to get my hands on the data – if I don't have the data, I'll be a false prophet saying things I haven't verified. Look, the things that we have handled, the things that we have touched, that's what we are saying: This is my point of view.
