Wadi Shaibu's promotion is a source of pride and inspiration for the people of Kogi State – Gov Ododo


Ahmed Usman Ododo has said the elevation of Major General Wadi Shaibu as the new Chief of Army Staff is a source of pride and inspiration to the people of Kogi State.

According to a press statement signed and issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, which was made available to journalists in Lokoja on Friday, it was stated that the appointee's record of professionalism, discipline and devotion to duty stands him out as a good officer and true patriot.

The statement reads in part, “The Government of Kogi State expresses its deep gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for appointing Major General Wadi Shaibu, a proud son of Kogi State, as the new Chief of Army Staff.

“Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo described the appointment as a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to fairness, equality and recognition of merit in the national service.

“Governor Ododo said the promotion of Major General Shaibu is a source of pride and inspiration to the people of Kogi State, stressing that the appointee’s record of professionalism, discipline and devotion to duty establishes him as a good officer and true patriot.

“The Governor expressed confidence in the ability of the new Chief of Army Staff to deliver on the mandate of strengthening the Nigerian Army to defend the nation and sustain the ongoing efforts to improve security across the country.”

Ododo equally congratulates Major General Shaibu on his well-deserved appointment. Governor Ododo assured Mr. President of the unwavering support and loyalty of the government and people of Kogi State to his administration.

He also prayed for divine wisdom and protection for the new Army Chief while discharging his duties in the service of the nation.
