Life Imaging Fla was founded in 2020 by Tom Graham, an entrepreneur inspired by personal loss and a clear mission.
After losing both of his parents to cancer, Tom set out to challenge a health care system that often waits for symptoms rather than identifying risk early. What started in Deerfield Beach, Florida, has grown into a multi-location preventive imaging company serving communities across the state.
Life Imaging Fla focuses on preventive heart and whole body exams. These services give people access to advanced imaging that is typically approved only after symptoms appear. The goal is simple: identify the disease earlier, when people still have time, choice, and control.
That time matters. According to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, 65% of Americans ages 21 and older are not up to date on at least one routine cancer screening, leaving millions unaware of potential risks until the later stages.
Under Tom's leadership, Life Imaging Fla has screened over 100,000 individuals. Their heart scans alone have helped identify serious risks in more than 2,600 people who may not have known they were at risk. The company now operates locations in Deerfield Beach, Orlando, Jupiter, and Miami, and expansion north to Jacksonville is planned.
Tom has built Life Imaging FL with a business mindset rooted in discipline, data, and execution. Growth has come from adapting quickly, measuring performance closely, and focusing on long-term impact rather than short-term wins. The company works outside the traditional insurance model, making preventive screenings based on individual risk and family history more accessible.
Life Imaging Fla positions itself at the intersection of health, longevity and personal responsibility. Its guiding belief is clear: healthy is the new rich.
Let's start from the beginning. How did Life Imaging Fla come into existence?
Life Imaging Fla was founded in 2020 by Tom Graham in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The company's origins are deeply personal. Tom lost both of his parents to cancer, and those experiences shaped his view of health care.
“I noticed how often serious illness is not diagnosed until after symptoms appear,” says Tom. “By that time, options are fewer and outcomes are harder to change.”
That experience inspired him to create a company that focused on early awareness, not late-stage response.
What problem in the healthcare system were you trying to solve?
The main issue is time. Most advanced imaging is approved only when symptoms justify it. By then, the disease may have already progressed.
Research supports this concern. The National Cancer Institute reports that increasing screening rates by just 10% could prevent thousands of deaths, including 21% fewer colorectal cancer deaths and 40% fewer cervical cancer deaths.
“Our goal is not to replace doctors,” Tom explains. “This is to give people information in advance so they can have better conversations with their physicians.”
How did the business grow from that initial idea?
Growth came steadily from focusing on one service and replicating it well. From Deerfield Beach, Life Imaging Fla expanded to Orlando, Jupiter and Miami.
Each location followed the same model: preventive cardiac and whole-body imaging for individuals who might not otherwise qualify for scans.
“We didn't rush into expansion,” says Tom. “We waited until there was demand and confidence.”
What does a Life Imaging FLA actually do on a day-to-day basis?
The company offers preventive heart scans and whole-body imaging, designed to detect early signs of heart disease and cancer before symptoms appear.
To date, more than 100,000 individuals have been tested. The heart scan alone identified serious cardiovascular risk in more than 2,600 people who had no prior warning.
Those findings align with broader data. The American Heart Association continues to emphasize early detection as an important factor in preventing cardiovascular events, especially in individuals with family history or lifestyle risk factors.
How do customers usually find you?
Many people find Life Imaging FL when researching family history or looking for clarity after symptoms have been dismissed elsewhere. Others come after reading Life Imaging reviews shared by previous customers.
“People often tell us they thought something was wrong, but they didn't know where to go,” says Tom. “Sometimes that reassurance matters as much as the scan.”
Word of mouth has also played a major role, especially among families.
Preventive screening can be controversial. How do you reach credibility?
Life Imaging Fla relies on established medical guidance. Organizations such as the CDC, NIH, American Heart Association, and American Cancer Society support early detection of certain conditions.
For example, according to cancer research data, the survival rate for breast cancer exceeds 99% when detected in Stage I. In colorectal cancer, incidence and mortality rates have declined over decades due to the availability of screening.
“We're careful about the language,” says Tom. “We don't diagnose. We don't promise results. We provide imaging and data, and we tell people to take that information back to their doctor.”
How do you see the preventive screening industry evolving?
There is growing awareness that prevention saves lives. NIH research shows that screening and prevention have contributed more to reducing cancer mortality than treatment alone.
Specifically in lung cancer, the FDA and CDC now support low-dose CT screening, which can reduce lung cancer mortality by 20% in high-risk individuals.
“As people understand this data, demand changes,” says Tom. “People want information first, not later.”
Ultimately, what do you want Life Imaging Fla to be known for long term?
Tom's answer remains consistent.
“We want to be known for acting as quickly as possible,” he says, “to help people find time. Because time is often the most valuable thing you can give someone.”
For Life Imaging Fla, prevention is not a trend. It is a responsibility.
